Tom Owlett is currently the Manager of Mechanical Design Engineering at Tesla, where they have furthered their expertise in mechanical design since 2023. Prior to this role, Tom served as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Tesla from 2020 to 2023, and held various engineering positions at companies including GlassPoint Solar and Cor Medical Ventures, where they contributed to innovative projects such as the development of a cost-effective solar enclosure. Tom began their engineering career with internships at Hitachi Metals and American Energy Assets, and they hold a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University.
