Varun Pushpa is currently a Graduate Research Assistant at South Dakota Mines, focusing on the friction stir processing of steel to enhance ballistic performance. Prior experience includes a QA Metallurgist Intern at Nucor Corporation and a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where research involved analyzing the structural properties of low alloy steel. Varun held the position of Mechanical Project Engineer at R&D Dynamics, managing Organic Rankine Cycle systems, and served as a Project Engineer at A & T Engineering P.C.
