Tim Brown

Global Marketing Director - Cataract

Tim Brown has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Tim began their career as a Sales Advisor at Now That's Hi-Fi, where they provided personal service and technical knowledge to sell TVs and home audio systems. Tim later worked as a Sales Assistant at Bench, focusing on customer service and inventory management.

In 2006, Tim took on a Marketing Coordinator role at Prysmian during a university placement, where they developed promotional materials and managed the company's webpages.

Tim joined Philips in 2008 and worked in various positions within the Sleep & Respiratory Care division. Tim started as a Marketing Assistant, creating sales support materials and managing the e-commerce site. Tim then became a Marketing Support Specialist, specializing in marketing for the Home Respiratory Care portfolio. Tim was promoted to Junior Product Manager, where they assisted in product management, positioning, digital marketing, and establishing corporate partnerships. Finally, they became a Product Manager, managing the UK & Ireland Home Respiratory Care portfolio and contributing to sales strategy and forecasting.

In 2017, Tim joined Hope2Sleep, a registered charity, where they served as a Trustee and later as Vice Chairman. Tim was involved in charity safeguarding and raising public awareness for sleep-disordered breathing.

Currently, Tim is the European Marketing Director at Rayner, where they are responsible for strategic marketing initiatives. Prior to this role, they served as the Surgical Marketing Director, leading marketing campaigns and brand promotion. Tim previously held the positions of Global Marketing Manager and Global Product Manager within the surgical division of Rayner. In these roles, they led various global marketing initiatives and brand launches, including the development and launch of the RayPRO digital platform for measuring Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) after cataract surgery.

Tim Brown has a diverse education history. Tim obtained a BA (HONS) in Business Studies from the University of Portsmouth, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. After that, they attended HSDC Havant & South Downs from 2002 to 2004, where they completed an AVCE Double Business Studies, as well as A Level ICT, AS Level Accountancy, and AS Level Psychology. In 2010 and 2011, they went to Chichester College and earned a Professional Certificate (Level 4) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

In addition to their formal education, Tim Brown has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Tim completed a Writing a Marketing Plan course from LinkedIn in May 2020, a Microsoft Excel Level 4 Course from Burningsuit Ltd in June 2019, and a Rayner High Potential Employees Mini MBA from Rayner in March 2019. Tim also holds a First Aid certification from the British Red Cross obtained in January 2016 and a Google Digital Analytics Fundamentals certification from Google obtained in October 2013.
