Jim Read is an accomplished purchasing manager with extensive experience in procurement and vendor management. Currently serving as Purchasing Manager at Builders First Source since July 2011, Jim has previously held the position of Regional Purchasing Manager at White Cap Construction Supply from January 1997 to October 2010, where oversight of a team of six buyers led to an annual spend exceeding $80M, along with significant contributions to cost reduction and inventory management. Jim's career also includes roles as a Purchasing Agent at Transpo Electronics, Inc., and Account Representative positions in both Transpo and Wayne Densch, Inc., with a track record of driving sales growth through strong customer relationships. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from the University of Florida.
