Tim Alfermann is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in electric machines and power modules, currently serving as a Sr. Engineering Manager at BorgWarner since November 2015. In this role, Alfermann oversees technical experts to establish global design standards and implement cost-effective strategies for automotive applications. Previous positions at BorgWarner include Engineering Manager and Engineering and Lab Supervisor, where responsibilities encompassed forming teams, developing intellectual property, and managing power electronics labs. Alfermann's background also includes roles at Remy International, General Motors, and Allison Transmission, where significant contributions to electric vehicle technology and warranty cost reduction were made. In addition to industry roles, Alfermann holds leadership positions within SAE Indiana and served as an adjunct professor at IUPUI.
