Stephen Roach is an esteemed economist with an extensive career spanning several prominent institutions. Notably, Roach served as a Senior Economist, Chairman for Asia, and Chief Economist at Morgan Stanley from October 1982 to December 1990. Prior to this role, Roach was an Economist and Section Chief at the Federal Reserve Board from September 1973 to August 1979, and held the position of Senior Economist at Morgan Guaranty Trust Company from September 1979 to September 1982. Roach began his academic involvement as a Research Fellow at The Brookings Institution from August 1972 to August 1973 and has been a Senior Fellow at Yale University since June 2010. Roach earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from New York University.
