The evolution of our platform is required for our scale, and we are searching for an experienced software engineer to join our rapidly growing engineering team. If you are an engineer experienced with technology transformations, service-oriented architectures, mentoring engineers, and are motivated by scale, you may be the engineer we are looking for.

The day to day

Work with a team of passionate engineers to build the core software platform that powers WP Engine's current and future products

Write, test, integrate, and debug software applications that are resilient, secure, maintainable, and perform at scale

Participate in code reviews to share knowledge with your peers and ensure the delivery of high-quality and secure code

Continuously improve WP Engine’s secure, performant software platform that supports 10’s of millions of end users

Use and improve WP Engine's continuous integration and delivery pipelines to safely and rapidly push new code to production

Expand and fine-tune observability services to aid engineering and support efforts and create better feedback loops

Constantly look for opportunities to automate and optimize

Work closely with Product Management to ensure that your frequent, incremental code changes add new value to our customers

Collaborate on technical solutions and system design across WP Engine

Your expertise and passion

4+ years experience in a software development role, delivering high-quality software

Proficient in programming

Experience with cloud and containerized technologies and services - GCP, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes

Experience with developing and maintaining APIs and microservices

Proven history of continuous learning and ability to stay ahead of technology trends

Proactive with natural problem-solving abilities, an inquisitive personality, a continuous learning approach, and an eagerness to tackle big problems even with uncertain requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field) OR equivalent experience

Helpful experience

Familiarity with the Go programming language

Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform

Familiarity with API description languages such as OpenAPI or Protocol Buffers

Familiarity with GitOps, GKE, Istio, Google Cloud Anthos, kpt, kustomize, Terraform, or git/GitHub
