Karen Chen is currently the Director and Associate General Counsel for Privacy Americas at Workday, leading privacy legal initiatives and ensuring compliance with privacy laws across the organization. Previously, they held roles as Senior Director for Privacy, AI, and Data Governance at Bill.com, where they developed privacy functions and led compliance efforts, among other responsibilities. Karen's experience includes serving as Director of Litigation and Legal Affairs at Encore Capital Group, where they managed a substantial litigation team and provided strategic legal counsel. Earlier in their career, they practiced as an attorney at firms like DLA Piper and Baker & McKenzie, and later as Assistant General Counsel at Intuit. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UCSD and a Doctor of Law from Cornell Law School.
