Andrea Bertone is a development professional with over 25 years of international development practice and research experience. They currently serve as Co-Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Women Rising International and as Co-Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Women Leading International, and they teach graduate courses as an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University. Their past leadership roles include Director, International Development at FHI 360 (2021–2024) and prior Director at FHI 360 (2004–2017), as well as Project Director at AED (2003–2010). They earned a Ph.D. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland (1998–2007) and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Delaware (1995–1996).
