Steven Schappaugh is a passionate educator dedicated to serving 2,100 students and 140 staff members. Currently, they serve as the Executive Director of Secondary Education at West Des Moines Community Schools and as Principal at Des Moines Public Schools. Steven previously held the position of Director at the National Speech & Debate Association from 2014 to 2018 and was the Associate Director at Nova Southeastern University from 2007 to 2014. They are proud of Roosevelt’s commitment to Excellence through Unity, Equity, and Integrity, which has led to significant improvements in student success, fundraising, and enrollment.
