Derek Tan is currently the Executive Director and Head of Infrastructure & Simulation at WeRide.ai, where they oversee a diverse team tackling challenges in autonomous driving technology. Previously, Derek held various roles at notable companies including Google, where they served as a Tech Lead Manager for Project Fi, and YouTube, where they improved the Livestreaming API. Early in their career, Derek completed internships at Microsoft and Google, showcasing a strong foundation in software engineering. They are a distinguished student at Sun Yat-Sen University, consistently ranking first among 300 peers based on GPA.
