Dr. Sanja Sever is the Vice President of Drug Discovery and the Director of the Sealy Institute for Drug Discovery at The University of Texas Medical Branch, where they focus on fostering collaboration to develop innovative solutions for various diseases. Previously, Dr. Sever led a NIH-funded research laboratory at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital for 21 years, during which they became recognized internationally for their work in molecular biology and biochemistry, authoring over 50 publications in prestigious journals. In addition to their academic achievements, Dr. Sever co-founded Walden Biosciences, a biotech firm dedicated to pioneering treatments for kidney diseases. They hold multiple degrees from the University of Zagreb, including a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
