David Johnson has work experience as a football coach and player at Pitstone & Ivinghoe FC since June 2021. David also worked as a football player at the same club starting in October 2020. Prior to that, they were a head coach and football player at Leighton Town Football Club from July 2017 to May 2019. David was a sales executive at Verastar, and a football player at New Bradwell St Peter F.C. in September and October 2020, respectively.

David Johnson attended Vandyke Upper School from 2012 to 2016. During this time, they completed their GCSEs in Physical Education, English Language and Literature, Maths, and BTEC Science. Additionally, they obtained their A Level in BTEC Sport from the same school between 2014 and 2016. Later, in August 2020, they completed The FA Level 1 in Talent Identification, certified by The Football Association. In July 2017, they obtained their driving license from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
