Naoko Yamazaki is a former astronaut who served as a mission specialist on the STS-131 Space Shuttle Discovery and spent time aboard the International Space Station. Currently, they hold several prominent positions, including General Manager of VAST Japan, Representative Director of the Space Port Japan Association, and President of the Young Astronaut Club-Japan. Additionally, Naoko is a Council Member of The Earthshot Prize and plays an active role in various Japanese space policy committees. They have been recognized for their contributions to space science and exploration since their time with JAXA from 1999 to 2011.
