QA/QC Superintendent (Assistant Superintendent)

Overview

The Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Superintendent aids the Superintendent of the jobsite. The QA/QC assist with overseeing daily construction activities at the site, works with contractors, and aids with keeping the project within budget and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean jobsite
  • Preconstruction preparation of the jobsite (office, office trailer, poster, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, etc.)
  • Keep the jobsite and all related construction material secure
  • Open / close the jobsite in absence of the supervisor
  • Perform basic skills including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, painting, caulking, framing, light demolition, and general cleanup
  • Maintain personal and company provided tools
  • Oversee all aspects of construction project from planning to implementation
  • Allocate resources for assigned projects
  • Interface with project inspectors, CORs, subcontractors, architects, engineers and clients (i.e., Government, etc.)
  • Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Review project punch list and oversee completion of all project disciplines
  • Learn the need for uniformity in construction methods within the company
  • Monitor cleanliness and hold the subcontractor responsible for daily cleanup
  • Walk each completed space before the Superintendent walk-thought to ensure the space is complete, clean, and meets standards of quality
  • Conduct subcontractor orientation and re-walk ensuring customer satisfaction

  • Drive Foreman Schedule
  • Maintain Daily Logs
  • Maintain site safety walk / inspections in Procore
  • Aid with Laborer / Carpentry duties as needed

Required Education and Experience

  • Track 1: Four or more years working in commercial construction as a tradesman in an industry apprentice program. One or more years as a crew leader/foreman
  • Track 2: Associate Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two-year related experience or training. Combination of education and experience must be four years or greater
  • Track 3: Bachelors’ degree (AA) from four-year college or university

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, or sit
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually required to talk / listen
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
  • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds
