Kara Gordon is the Director of Neurobiology at Vala Sciences, where they focus on genetically inherited neurological disorders and protein quality control pathways. With over 10 years of research experience, they have expertise in using genetic approaches to identify therapeutic targets for neurological diseases. Kara has previously held positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher at both the University of California, San Diego, and the University of Iowa, where they contributed to significant findings in neurobiology. They hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Iowa and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where they graduated summa cum laude.
