Babu Tekwani is a distinguished leader in the fields of strategic and operational leadership, translational drug discovery, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on infectious diseases and neuropharmacology. From 2018 to 2023, they served as a Distinguished Fellow and Chair of Infectious Diseases at Southern Research, leading multiple drug discovery projects and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Currently, Babu is the Vice President of Research and Development at Vala Sciences, where they develop human iPSC-derived models for drug discovery. They also held significant roles at Central Drug Research Institute and the University of Mississippi, contributing over 30 million in funding to infectious disease research during their tenure. Babu holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Central Drug Research Institute & University of Lucknow.
