Lori L. McMahon currently serves as the Vice President for Research at the University of Virginia and is also a Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Previously, from 2021 to 2024, Lori held the position of Vice President for Research at the Medical University of South Carolina and served as Professor and Graduate School Dean at The University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2015 to 2021. Lori has been recognized as Dean Emeritus of the Graduate School at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since 2021 and was a Full Professor at UAB from 1998 to 2021. Lori earned a degree from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine between 1987 and 1993.
