Kelly Clifton is a Professor in the School of Community and Regional Planning at UBC and holds the J. Armand Bombardier Chair in Regional Transportation Planning. With extensive experience in transportation planning and policy, they have taught and conducted research on travel behavior, land use, and sustainable development. Kelly has served as the Associate Dean for Research at Portland State University and as an Associate Professor at the University of Maryland. They earned a PhD in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin and have also founded Clifton-Currans, LLC, focusing on implementing sustainable transportation practices for local governments. Currently, Kelly leads the Rethinking the Right-of-Way initiative, promoting sustainable and equitable urban street transformations.
