Chris Gensler currently serves as the HHBN Commander for the 11 Airborne Division in the US Army since August 2025. Previous experience includes a role as a US Exchange Officer with the New Zealand Defence Force from March 2024 to July 2025, and various positions at JRTC and Fort Polk between July 2022 and February 2024, such as BEB Executive Officer Observer Coach Trainer and BEB Operations Officer Observer Coach Trainer. From August 2020 to June 2022, Gensler held the positions of Battalion Executive Officer and Battalion Operations Officer with the 127 Airborne Engineer Battalion. Additional experience spans roles in the 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team and the 1-345 Brigade Engineer Battalion, as well as leadership positions in the 101st Airborne Division and NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan. Academically, Gensler earned a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from Eastern Illinois University.
