Michael Alexander is an experienced communications and advocacy professional with a strong background in environmental issues. Currently serving as Special Assistant to the Director of the Ecosystems Division at the UN Environment Programme, Michael leads communications and advocacy efforts focused on biodiversity and land degradation. Previously, Michael held positions at WWF-Singapore, including Senior Manager of Campaigns & Advocacy and Regional Campaigns Manager, tackling critical environmental challenges such as deforestation, illegal wildlife trade, and plastic pollution. Michael's earlier roles at WWF International and prominent advertising agencies, including adam&eveDDB and Ogilvy & Mather, further solidified expertise in strategic communications and marketing. Michael's educational background includes a degree in Media Studies from the University of Sussex.
