Merve Özkutlu Demirel is currently a Senior R&D Lead Engineer at Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii and has a strong background in chemical engineering. They completed their Bachelor's degree at Ankara University and went on to earn a Master's degree from Hacettepe University, followed by a PhD from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi. Merve also gained experience as a Teaching Assistant during their studies, where they engaged in multidisciplinary projects and lab assistantships. Earlier in their career, Merve interned as a Chemical Engineer at both Petkim and a Wastewater Treatment Plant.
