Alex Shyr is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in data science and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as the VP of AI at Trunk Tools since September 2024, Alex focuses on developing AI tools and agents to enhance productivity in the construction sector. Previously, Alex held the position of VP of Data and Head of Data Science at Next Insurance from February 2018 to September 2024, where efforts centered on implementing machine learning and predictive analytics in insurance. As Chief Scientist and Data Scientist at Bidgely from November 2013 to February 2018, Alex specialized in energy analytics, utilizing advanced signal processing technologies to provide insights into energy consumption within households. Additional roles include data architecture and engineering at Storm8, work on electrical battery algorithms at Atieva, and research internships at Google and Microsoft, all of which contributed to a robust foundation in computer science. Alex earned a PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of British Columbia.
