Roy Heideveld has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. Roy started their career at Stappenbelt sportfietsen in 2001, where they worked as a werkplaatsmedewerker until 2006. From there, they joined SDD R&D in 2007 as a Mechanical Engineer and later became a Project Manager until 2010. Roy then worked at Bosch Engineering as a Support Engineer from 2010 to 2011. In 2011, they joined Shimano Europe BV as a Product Coördinator and later became a Product Developer until 2016. Currently, they are employed at Trek Bicycle, where they began as a Product Engineer in 2016. Roy was promoted to Senior Product Engineer in 2022 and is currently serving as the Engineering Manager.

Roy Heideveld completed their education at various institutions throughout their academic career. Roy began studying at De Heemgaard, where they obtained their havo degree between 1996 and 2000. After that, they attended Roc Aventus from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a degree as a Technicus in both Elektrotechnische installatietechniek and Elektrotechnische automatiserings en energietechiek. Roy then enrolled at Saxion University of Applied Sciences from 2007 to 2011, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in business engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Roy Heideveld has obtained several certifications. Roy completed the Onshape Direct Editing Course at Onshape, a PTC Technology, in December 2021. In October 2021, they achieved the Innovation Engineering blue belt certification from the Innovation Engineering Institute. Roy also completed a course on Customer-Centric Innovation at RWTH Aachen University in May 2020. In June 2019, they obtained a certification in Fundamentals of GD&T ASME Y14.5 v2009 from Applied Geometrics, Inc. Furthermore, they completed a course on Innovation and Creativity Management at RWTH Aachen University in January 2019. Lastly, in November 2017, Roy Heideveld obtained a certification in Verandermanagement from GoodHabitz.
