José Ángel Rufino Baquero is an experienced software engineering leader currently serving as the Director of Software Engineering at TomTom since May 2024. Previously, Baquero worked at Clipboard Health as an Engineering Group Manager and Engineering Manager, overseeing multiple teams focused on worker mobile app features and supply generation. With a robust background at Amazon, Baquero held various roles, including Software Development Manager, where management of teams focused on pricing strategies for the Amazon Business Pricing organization occurred. Earlier positions included leadership roles at Datadog and Smartbox Group, as well as significant contributions as a Senior Software Developer at Büro für Interaktive Medienproduktion. Baquero holds a degree in Ingeniería Superior Informática from Universidad de Sevilla and has also studied Computer Science at the University of Tampere as an Erasmus student.
