Sigurdur Rafn Thorkelsson has a strong background in biochemistry and structural biology, holding a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Háskóli Íslands and a Master's degree in Biochemistry from Københavns Universitet. Thorkelsson completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Structural Biology at the University of Hamburg. Professional experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at Københavns Universitet, a PhD Researcher at the Centre for Structural Systems Biology, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. Currently, Thorkelsson is a Senior Application Scientist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, starting in September 2024.
