Shakti Kumar Gnanavelu is an opto-mechanical design engineer with over 10 years of experience in the life sciences and commercial laser industries. They began their career as an engineering intern at Toyoda Gosei North America Corporation and later worked as a mechanical engineer at Quantronix, where they designed components for ultrafast laser amplifiers. In subsequent roles at Haas Laser Technologies and Coherent Inc., they contributed to the design and development of high-precision laser systems, culminating in their current position as a Staff Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, focusing on next-generation PCR and microarray systems. Shakti holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University and a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Wayne State University.
