Emma Pelton is a Senior Conservation Biologist at The Xerces Society, where they focus on conservation, research, community science, and policy for declining invertebrate species, particularly the western population of monarch butterflies. Previously, Emma served as a Research Assistant and Research Intern at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they explored the role of bats in agroecosystems and collaborated with various stakeholders. Emma also held positions in the Endangered Resources Natural Inventory and Review at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources before advancing their career. They earned a B.S. in Biological Aspects of Conservation and a Master's degree in Agroecology and Entomology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
