Bret Becton currently serves as the Dean and Professor at the College of Business & Economic Development at The University of Southern Mississippi since June 2019, following a tenure as Dean and Professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. With over two decades of experience in academia and consulting, Bret has held various positions including Associate Dean for Operations and Accreditation and Associate Professor at The University of Southern Mississippi, in addition to roles at Winthrop University and Auburn University at Montgomery. As the Principal Owner of Becton Management Solutions, consulting services have been provided to notable organizations such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance. Bret holds a Ph.D. in Management with dual emphasis in Human Resource Management and Organizational Change from Auburn University Harbert College of Business and has extensive expertise in human resources, strategic planning, and organizational development.
