Michael Schwarzhaupt, CPA, currently serves as an Inspector at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), where responsibilities include reviewing public accounting firm engagements for compliance with PCAOB standards. Prior experience includes functioning as the Lead SEC Reporting Analyst at Discover Financial Services, leading SEC reporting for key disclosures and ensuring compliance throughout the reporting lifecycle. Michael has also held multiple roles at Deloitte, progressing from Audit & Assurance Assistant to Audit & Assurance Senior, conducting audits for Fortune 1000 companies and private equity funds. Earlier experiences include a Graduate Teaching Assistant position at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and internships in corporate accounting and financial representation. Michael holds a Master of Accounting Science with a concentration in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
