Robert Wood is a Deputy Director for Latin America and the Caribbean with extensive experience in economic analysis and risk management. They have served as a Principal Economist and Manager for the Economist Intelligence Unit from 2018 to 2023, and continue to work for The Economist since 1997 in various leadership roles focused on country risk analysis, particularly in Brazil and Mexico. Robert holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Bristol and a Master's degree in Development Studies from the University of Sussex. Prior to joining The Economist, they conducted consultancies for the European Commission and worked for a development-oriented NGO in Mexico.
