Hongwei Xia is a Principal Specialist and Senior Geotechnical Engineer currently at Tetra Tech, where they have been since 2023. With extensive experience in mine waste and water management, shallow and deep foundation design in permafrost, and tailings dam design, Hongwei also specializes in slope stability assessments and diversion channel design. They previously worked as a Geotechnical Engineer for Shanghai Construction Group from 2003 to 2004 and have been a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Tetra Tech Canada Inc. since 2009.
