Gareth Wallis has extensive experience in event management and community services, having held key positions across notable organizations. At Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development Ltd, Gareth served as Programme Manager for the Rugby World Cup 2011 and later transitioned to the role of Event Production Manager. As Auckland Operations Manager for the FIFA U-17 Women’s Soccer World Cup in 2008, Gareth contributed to the successful delivery of the event. Gareth continued to build expertise at Auckland Live as Senior Producer and Business Development Manager. Most recently, Gareth worked at Tauranga City Council, first as Manager of City Events and then as General Manager of Community Services, from May 2019 to February 2023.
