Amar Bountra has extensive experience in the steel industry, currently serving as Chief at Tata Steel since August 2022, following a tenure as Executive Divisional Manager at Tata Steel Meramandali from May 2021 to August 2022. Prior roles include Associate Vice President at Tata Steel BSL from July 2016 to December 2021 and General Manager at Bhushan Steel Limited from October 2013 to July 2016, where responsibilities included overseeing operations of India's largest coke oven battery and byproduct plant. Amar also held the position of Deputy General Manager at Essar Steel from August 2010 to October 2013, participating in the establishment of coke ovens in a greenfield project. Earlier career experience includes roles at JSW Steel Ltd and senior management positions at SAIL, Bhilai Steel Plant from 1992 to 2008. Amar Bountra holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) and a B.Sc from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University.
