Michael Hellbeck is currently the Chief Risk Officer and a Member of the Management Board at Standard Chartered Bank AG in Frankfurt, serving as the EU hub for the bank. With over 35 years of global banking and governance/risk management experience, they have held various leadership roles including Credit Risk Management and COO positions, primarily focused on regulatory compliance and client services. Previously, Michael led the Legal and Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, and Governance platform at Standard Chartered Bank Korea, where they navigated a complex regulatory environment. They have extensive experience in managing internal and external stakeholders, and have actively participated in industry associations, including a four-year chairmanship of the Foreign Bankers Group in Korea. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
