Francis Aherne is the Managing Director and Global Head of SABRE Development at Standard Chartered Bank, a role held since 2016, overseeing a team distributed across Singapore, China, India, and London. Prior to this, Francis served as the Head of FX Options Financial Markets Solution Delivery and Head of Rates Development at Standard Chartered, and was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs from 1999 to 2004. Francis has significant experience in software engineering, having worked with Pace and SunGard Financial Systems, and holds a PhD in Electronic Engineering and a BSc(Hons) in Mathematics from The University of Sheffield.
