Alex Ashby is an experienced Treasury leader and board member currently serving as Group Treasurer at WPP and as Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Treasury Committee at Southern Housing. In addition to these roles, Alex is an Expert Panel member for Accounting for Sustainability and holds the position of Vice Chair, Trustee, and Treasurer at Wikimedia UK. Previously, Alex worked as Deputy Treasurer and Head of Risk at Tesco, and as Treasury Manager at Gazprom Marketing & Trading. Alex is a chartered accountant and a fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, having earned an Advanced Diploma in Treasury Management.
