Tyrone van Balla is currently the Functional Engineering Manager for the Digital Signal Processing group at the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO). Previously, Tyrone served as a Co-Founder at RD9 Solutions, developing innovative technology solutions and overseeing various business processes. Tyrone has held positions as an Electronic Engineer at SKA South Africa, where responsibilities included managing system engineering for digital signal processing projects, and as a consultant at the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, contributing to an online educational platform. Tyrone earned a Master of Science in Engineering, awarded with distinction, and a BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Cape Town.
