In 2013, while living abroad, our founders set out to create an online tool that could turn huge PDFs into small, easy-to-send versions in order to send updates to their families. As it turns out, they weren't the only ones with this problem. 10 years later, Smallpdf is one of the most popular PDF tools in the world and among the most visited websites globally. With products available in 24 languages, the site has visitors from every single country in the world, plus Antarctica, and processes millions of documents each day.

In 2022, we took a big step forward by acquiring PDF Tools, a Zurich-based pioneer for products that help to create, manipulate, and validate PDF- and PDF/A- files to support and improve our customers’ document workflows.

Objective of the role

As an FP&A Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and success of the company. You will be responsible for analyzing financial data, creating reports, and providing insights to guide strategic decision-making. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of monthly performance against budget and forecasts. Provide analysis for senior leaders, board and other internal and external stakeholders in a c-suite ready format.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Work closely with the business units to gather information, analyze trends, and make recommendations for optimizing financial performance.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports for internal stakeholders, including management and department heads. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and scenario analysis. Evaluate the financial impact of various initiatives and proposed projects.
• Cost Analysis: Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving measures.
• Process improvements: develop and improve existing analytics and processes, automating processes and controls.
• Ad hoc Analysis: Undertake special projects and ad hoc analysis as required by management. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and decision-making..

What you bring

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Min 3 years of proven experience in financial analysis and modelling, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis tools (e.g., Google sheets/Excel, Tableau).
• Ability to work with databases (using SQL queries).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and offer innovative solutions to financial challenges.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to various business units en non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong presentation skills, including the ability to create clear and compelling reports and presentations.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with B2B (sales) teams.
• Experience with complex data queries.
• Experience in working with Hubspot and Looker.
