Qiong Liu

Adjunct Professor And Ph.d. Advisor

Qiong Liu is an accomplished academic and industry leader in the fields of multimodal machine learning and robotics. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor and Ph.D. Advisor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University since 2022, Qiong Liu also holds the position of Chief AI Scientist and Vice President at CloudWalk Research Institute, where the focus remains on advanced research in multimodal machine learning and robotics since 2021. Prior experience includes a role as Principal Research Scientist at FX Palo Alto Laboratory from 2015 to 2020, concentrating on cross-media learning of medical images and audio-visual systems, paired with an extensive tenure at the same laboratory that involved developing technologies for immersive conferencing and augmented reality. Qiong Liu began a notable career in research as a Visiting Researcher at Microsoft Research in 1999-2000. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, an MS in Precision Instruments and Mechanology from Tsinghua University, and a BS in Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science from Zhejiang University.
