Prior to seca, Simon held positions at Eppendorf Group, PerkinElmer Cellular Technologies GmbH, and Olympus Europa SE & Co. KG. Simon's educational background includes a Dr. rer. nat. in Biology from Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and a Diplom in Biology from Heidelberg University.
