Mary-Ruth Monsour is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in news production and editorial leadership. Currently serving as Chief Producer for World News at SBS Australia since August 2013, Mary-Ruth also assumes the role of Acting Managing Editor. Previous positions include Deputy News Editor and Editorial Project Lead for SBS Mandarin TV News and SBS Arabic TV News, where Mary-Ruth spearheaded initiatives to deliver tailored Australian news to diverse audiences. Earlier experience includes serving as Senior Producer at National Indigenous Television News and various journalist roles across Nine News, Seven News, Ten News, and WIN TV News from 1985 to 2010. Mary-Ruth holds a Bachelor of Business in Communications and Journalism from Queensland University of Technology, along with teaching qualifications in Speech and Drama from Trinity College London and AMEB.
