Adam Smears is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in fixed income and macroeconomic research. Currently serving as Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for Canada at Russell Investments, Adam has held various key roles, including Head of Macro and Fixed Income Research and Portfolio Manager for Unconstrained Fixed Income since joining the company in November 2012. Prior to this, Adam was the Head of Investment Research and Portfolio Manager at a now-defunct firm from September 2003 to October 2012, and also held the position of Senior Fund Analyst at Fidelity Investments from February 2000 to September 2003. Adam began the career at RBC Dominion Securities as a Mutual Fund Marketing Associate from July 1997 to August 1999. Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Classics and History from McGill University, obtained between 1993 and 1997.
