Joe Dammel is the Manager of Carbon-Free Buildings at RMI, where they focus on policies to transform the U.S. gas and electric utility industries for efficient decarbonization and electrification of the buildings sector. Previously, Joe served as Managing Director of Buildings at Fresh Energy, driving policy solutions for carbon-neutral economies, and held roles as Assistant Attorney General and Staff Attorney in the Minnesota Attorney General's office and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, respectively. Joe also has regulatory experience as a Regulatory Analyst at CenterPoint Energy. They hold a JD from the University of Minnesota Law School and a Master of Science in Science, Technology, & Environmental Policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
