Sarah Louise Barns is a seasoned researcher and consultant specializing in digital strategy, urban studies, and telecommunications policy. With extensive experience spanning over two decades, Barns has held significant roles such as Research Fellow at the University of Western Sydney, where an internationally recognized project on Platform Urbanism was developed, and Senior Research Adviser at the Australia Council for the Arts, where the first national creative industries strategy was established. Current work as a Senior Research Fellow at RMIT University focuses on data ecologies for thriving places, alongside ongoing contributions as a founding member of the Circular Economy Precincts Cooperative. Barns has also been involved with various organizations, including the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, CSIRO's Data61, and Arup, delivering strategic insights that promote innovation and sustainability within urban environments. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Communications and Architecture from the University of Technology, Sydney, and a postdoctoral fellowship in Urban Studies.
