Joani Whalen, Ed.D., is an experienced administrative professional with a strong background in educational leadership and project management. They served as adjunct faculty at Lesley University and Bay State College from 2001 to 2004 and were the President of Joan O'Brien Associates from 2004 to 2013. Most recently, Joani has been the Executive Assistant to the Head of School at The Rivers School since 2023, where they also support the Board of Trustees. Joani holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Regis College and a Master of Philosophy in HIV/AIDS Workplace Management from Stellenbosch University. Their doctoral dissertation focused on alumni giving patterns at a business college in the Northeast United States.
