The Düsseldorf Conservation Center (RED - Restaurierungszentrum Düsseldorf) is dedicated to the examination, research and preservation of artistic and cultural heritage and is charged with the conservation and collection care of the museums, exhibition spaces and archives of the City of Düsseldorf. With its departments of paintings and contemporary art, decorative and applied arts, paper, photography, ceramics, wood and modern materials, and media art, the institute handles a broad spectrum of collections from antiquity to the present and is responsible for over 3.5 million objects.
