Gelana Khazeeva is a data scientist specializing in bioinformatics and genetics, with extensive experience in leveraging machine learning to analyze complex biological data. They served as a Team Lead in Data Science at OZON.ru from 2015 to 2020, where they developed a recommendation system for millions of products and managed a team of data scientists. Gelana pursued a PhD focused on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Human Genetics, creating a deep learning tool that improved variant detection accuracy in next-generation sequencing data. Currently, they are a Bioinformatics ML Scientist at Radboudumc. Gelana holds a Master of Science in Big Data and a Bachelor of Science in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
