Pilar Rivera Ortega is a Respiratory Consultant specializing in Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, where they also serve as the ILD Research Lead. As of April 2025, they hold the position of Associate Research and Development Director at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Previously, they were the clinical and research lead of the ILD unit at Wythenshawe Hospital until October 2024 and have over 15 years of experience in research, acting as Principal Investigator in multiple studies. Pilar is actively involved in various expert committees and mentorship programs, particularly in the realm of rare lung diseases and post-COVID-19 ILD. They earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in 2005.
