Abhas Borkar is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in physical design and hardware engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Engineer and Physical Design Lead at Qualcomm since October 2022, Abhas previously held the role of Senior Physical Design Engineer at NXP Semiconductors from June 2017 to January 2024. Prior to that, Abhas worked as a Principal Solutions Engineer at Cadence Design Systems and as a Hardware Design Staff Engineer at STMicroelectronics, where responsibilities included RTL feasibility analysis, physical synthesis, and complex multi-million instance implementations. Abhas also has a background in academia as a Teaching Assistant at Cornell University and has contributed to FPGA architecture research at STMicroelectronics. Abhas earned a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology.
